Remember, if the gross value of the estate exceeds $184,500, probate proceedings are typically required. Secondly, a thorough inventory and appraisal ensure transparency and fairness during the distribution process. All heirs and beneficiaries have a clear understanding of what assets are being divided.
Moreover, accurate valuation helps us address any potential tax liabilities associated with the estate. Filing an accurate Inventory and Appraisal (Forms DE-160/161) with the court is essential for proceeding smoothly through probate.
